I'm rather hoping someone here can help.

I'm looking for a low mileage 997 C2S, manual or PDK, for export. In order to get the export zero rated for VAT purposes, I need a dealer who will cooperate in zero rating the supply (it's relatively simple, using form V5, or something like that).

The authorised Porsche dealers seem to be under some directive from Porsche UK not to supply cars zero rated for export (I'm sure that breaches EU rules and the WTO rules under the GATT, but that's another story) - even second hand cars, which seems odd.

Does anyone have any experience of this, or know of a reputable dealer I could go to who might help with this? There are three choices - Personal Export Scheme, under which I can drive the car in the UK and Europe for 6 months, then export it to NZ; direct export, where the dealer arranges the shipping for me; and indirect, where I arrange for the car to be collected from the dealer and shipped. All are available, and quite legitimate.

As I will pay GST here on the car price, shipping and insurance, I see little point in paying VAT as well.

Any advice welcome.
