Hi guys I'm a new member but followed the postings for some time with great interest.
This may be an old chestnut but I can't find a recent opinion. I find like many that my near side actuator rod has snapped due to corrosion.the waste gate arm seems to free and not seized.my 996tt is standard but has a tubi sports exhaust. I would be grateful for advice on whether I should replace with a standard Porsche part or an aftermarket actuator. Car has done 50k with no apparent boost anomalies and runs well.If you recommend an option where best to purchase the parts.
Thanks and looking forwards to your views

I am sure you can buy them from other suppliers but drom Porsche they are £300 plus vat..!

We have actually repaired around 10 of these over the last few years now with stainless steel material. Worth popping in if you are near us.

It will need setting up for correct opening of the wastegate flap once repaired or replaced.

This happened to one of my actuators at around 43k miles. I replaced both actuators with Forge items, sourced through Nine Excellence. The cost of two Forge actuators was only slightly more than one Porsche OE item.

We charge around £120 plus vat to repair and set the actuator back up.

Forge look good value but are there still setup issues or have the concerns been resolved
