The brochure says that the rear silencer and exhaust tips on a 7.2 3RS is made of titanium. You can get the titanium tips from T equipment, but not the rear silencer.

Any ideas about how easy it is to fit silencer and tips on to a 7.2GT3?

Effect on ECU?

Effect on Porsche warranty?

Effect on exhaust sound?

Effect on power?

Thoughts and suggestions much appreciated.

Apologies- I don't want to go off-topic or hijack the thread - but I have a closely-related question.

I've always wanted to know where the 7.2 3RS's extra BHP comes from compared to the 7.2 GT3? Is it partially down to the titanium exhaust? That leads straight back to the OP's question (particularly WRT the ECU mapping).

Does anyone know what other changes (if any) are made to the engine to release the RS's extra power?

"To increase engine power, the air intake system was reviewed and improved using a new air filter. The result is a vehicle for maxi- mum performance powered by a six-cylinder Boxer engine with 3.8-litre displacement and enhan- ced VarioCam timing (page 36)."

RS revs higher and has 200 more cc. Only the centre section on the rs is titanium. It's made by Akrponvic and even has theur name stamped on it. Had a good chat with them at their stand at the FOS.

RS is 3.8, as is GT3 .. max rev is 8500rpm for both.

max torque is 430NM for both, at 6250rpm for GT3, and 6750rpm for RS

Unlikely to effect power, they used it on the RS to save weight.
