997/996 Turbo driving question?
Discussion
Bit of an odd question, but bar the power difference, how different is the 996 compared to the 997 turbo chassis/handling/driving position wise?
I have been trying to find a 996 turbo to hire for a few days to see if I get on with it before making the decision to buy, but can't find one anywhere. Would a 997 give a good indication or would it be a pointless exercise?
Anyone in the midlands knows anywhere that would hire me a 996 turbo?

If you type in 911 turbo into ebay there are some soft tops to rent.
Here you go

That's really useful!
Might get an overnight test drive if you are serious.
I've found they are easy to drive, no real achilles heels and very very quick.
I have driven a mates briefly, my main concern is the driving position as I am quite lanky, and if I will get on with the rear engine configuration/ weight distribution. I know a couple of people with turbos but feel cheeky asking to drive them really Might get an overnight test drive if you are serious.
