K & N air filter - Cayennes 4.5s, anyone here tried it?

As per the title.

Thinking of letting the ol girl breath a little easier by fitting a standard fitment K&N air filter.

They claim better throttle response and improved BHP - BUT... Has anyone tried one, was there any noticeable benefit to be had?

Mmmmm...

I didn't notice anything on my 3.2 either - maybe a slightly different growl when using the rev range...

Damn, was at least hoping for a minute difference somewhere to be had.

So.... what exactly is the benefit of these items then?

I know they offer a lifetime / 1,000,000 mile warranty - but is that it? No actual positive gain in normal road use?
