Gt3 or turbo 997?
Discussion
Hello all
I'm in the market for a Porsche. Having previously owned a 996 turbo, 997 c2s and a 993, my gut feeling is I want another 997
I will be using the Porsche 99% of the time on the road for blasting round country b roads, but I might do 1 or 2 track days a year IF I opted for the gt3. For some reason I have never been a big track day fan but do like track focused cars on the road (if you have a second car for everyday use)
I'm a bit bored of depreciation, so if I can avoid that massively, that would influence my decision if the thoughts were one model would be better than the other, although historically i tend to only keep my cars for a year or so before having a change. Budget circa £50k
Other questions;
If gt3 - thoughts on club sport vs 'comfort', also how essential is nav in those cars
If turbo - thoughts on power upgrades such as DMS
Cheers

I'm not certain but I think this has been discussed before
GT3 is one the great driving experiences. The best car I've driven I think and certainly , for me, a much better more pure 911 experience than the Turbo.
In a nutshell, the N/A engine sounds better, revs more freely, the 2wd steering is truly brilliant and the tactility of the whole package is miles ahead.It feels lighter and more alive.
It's perfectly usable for distances and if anything cheaper to maintain than the Turbo.
Yes the Turbo is more refined more practical and a bit faster (Honestly no one is going to think a GT3 lacks performance though)
If it's a "toy" then get a club sport (Or RS) and it makes it feel more of an event but the whole deal is a great package.
Bloody wonderful things
