Advice on my first Porsche please
Discussion
After test driving a GTS and a GTS4 last spring, I decided that I need to have one. Plans changed a bit when the finance on my M3 was up and I was offered a silly price to purchase it out right. I thought I would wait a bit for a Porsche to run alongside the BM and get what I really wanted, a GT3.
Unfortunatly plans have now changed again due to a bit of a bump and the M3 is now in a scrap yard. Running a GT as an only car is not an option (not my personal view) so I am back to a GTS with my girlfriend preferring a '4' due to safety as she will be driving it. I don't really have a problem with this as during the test drives there were only minute differences to be felt from behind the wheel. Is the '4' noticable different on track?
Now, my other plan is to buy a small 4WD run around (Golf R) and a Gen 1 GT3. I have been looking and this one is perfect:

Does anyone know the car and what shall I look out for on a 4 year old GT3?
My third, and final, plan is to go for a Turbo. I think a Gen 2 will be out of budget but a low milage, late Gen 1 should be nearly as good. Right?
I know the GT3/Turbo debate has been done to death and for my needs a Turbo would be the better bet (5-6 trackdays a year, mainly long continentel trips) but a GT3 is what I lust after.
If all else fails, then I will be going back to and M3 or C63. Advice/support welcomed.

I've toyed with the idea of buying a GT3 on a couple of occasions..
Personally, I would only buy one from a recognised Porsche Specialist, ideally someone who can offer a cast-iron warranty too.
It goes without saying that a Full Service History should be present - and I would strongly recommend having a car like this inspected by Peter Morgan.
Apologies if what I've said above is blindingly obvious.
Good Luck if you do buy one.
