What on earth are Turbo and GT3 cars like?
Discussion
So I have been pottering about in my lowly 991 3.4 for couple of weeks now and in case I haven't mentioned it lately..... OMG its just the best car in the world !
Seriously though, I was driving to work this morning thinking this is just about perfect for me, I definitely don't need any more power, if I'm using 60% then thats rare and I'm just having the best time of my life I just love it. An 'S' would have been totally wasted on me personally.
So my question is what on earth is it like to drive a 911 Turbo or a GT3? It must be an incredible experience.

GT3's are not really fast in a straight line, but they are unreal quick through turns on tracks and tight roads.
Turbos are in standard trim a little quicker, but with tweaks can be made monstrous fast in straight line and can be pretty quick through turns as well.

Thats a tough question to be honest.
I think both cars attract different needs.
Both epic and good at different things.
Ok so can I have a car with 996 turbo power and gt3 handling without trying to kill me for 28.5k plsI think both cars attract different needs.

I would guess that thing of your ticks all the boxes doesn't it?
Epic piece of kit.

I loved the acceleration and handling on my 996 C4S. Then the test drive of the 997tt blew my mind.
I then had to make a call between the 997tt and a nearly new basic 991, and I came down on the side of the Turbo as it felt like more car for the money. But both cars are epic in their own way.
Exactly.
Different cars for different purposes.
Turbo - Great all-rounder. Quick (can be mega quick), 4wd security, nav, hifi, etc, which is good as they're more of an everyday car.
They do nothing for me as I don't need what they offer, but they are good cars.
GT3 - Rarer, purer look, nothing it doesn't need, feels alive, sounds great. Just perfection to me and I prefer to have that along with a cheap daily car that I don't have to wash much or worry about.
Like I say we all have a set of wishes that are important. You need to establish yours before buying.

I know its not quite as responsive on the handling front as the lighter GT3.

Ok so 996 turbo power over 996 gt3 handling which wins???
It's the ultimate question
Is it that simple - I understood that the intermediate speed - e.g. 30-100 - the GT3 was faster than the turbo. It's the ultimate question
They have almost identical power to weight ratio - the turbo being faster in 0-60/0-100 due to 4WD traction of the line.
