Was dropping off the car at the OPC this morning and saw my gorgeous old Polar Silver 6.2 GT3 outside looking lovely as ever!

Apparently in for a service. I do hope that the new owner is enjoying it!!

Got myself a 4GTS courtesy car. Interesting experience.

A vehicle that makes no sense to me. I had a 2wd GTS and it was the perfect 997. 4wd would have ruined the nimble feel of the front wheels. What do you make of it?

Some people prefer the 'added security' of a 4WD 911. Whether they actually use it, who knows?

I realise that, and good luck to 'em. But doesn't mean it makes any sense in a GTS, except financially if it helps them shift units.

My Dad keeps making noises about swapping his 996 Mk2 GT3 for a 4GTS, normally about this time of year.

I keep telling him they are crap and its a silly idea. smile

No idea if they are or not, just pure self interest on my part. wink

A greasy autumnal corner indicated it had a rearward bias. Steering has good weight, but not as delicate as the RS. Not driven it enough to say more.

As for the market - a very good friend and business partner of mine has decided to get a 911 and no matter what I say he is adamant that he must have a 4WD drive car for safety. I reckon if he owned it for ten years he would never a) be able to tell it was 4wd or b) likely need it as he drives like a pussy!

On a different note the PDK is a hilarious (not in a good way).

Standard mode it is as recalcitrant as fat Kevin in a gym lesson.

Super Sport mode it is like Fat Kevin down the arcades after a bowl full of blue Smarties washed down with a Sunny D and two large cans of Red Bull.

Both modes are just not right!

Car is surprisingly quick though! smile

"Never being able to tell it's 4wd" cuts both ways. I wonder how many people talking about reduced steering feel could tell a debadged 4wd 911 from a 2wd!

My GTS was PDK and, though good, the transmission was far from perfect. Much much better in the 991.

Some of the 4GTS cars don't have the strip. You must try harder.

It's got a lot less grip than the RS - much easier to slide about!!! Very rear biased for a 4WD 911.

Not at all understeery at moderate pace.
