This baby went under the hammer for £290,000 at RM Auctions in London last night.

What do you think, is it worth that kind of money or not?

I'm going to go for yes, since it sold for that.

Unless you have another definition of worth?

Things as a rule are worth what someone is prepared to pay.

Wonder if it's heading back to the motherland being LHD?

ETA, just noticed it's on French plates.

I've a pal that works for Cars Motorsport and they transport vehicles all over. She told me about this car on FB yesterday, she said it was like brand new!!

£290.000 was money well spent I reckon!

Well, if I could afford it, I certainly would.

Worth it? There are enough people in the world with the money who want one, so yes.

Probably £330k with the buyers premium.. Looked like a very special car from the pictures (albeit a Swiss import)

Surprised it sold for more than the 959 though - That said it's probably the rarer car especially considering it was in standard spec.

Definitely on my Lottery list!!

Whats wrong with it being a Swiss import - just curious ?

Rob Myers always seems to squeeze big money out of punters. The last one I went to at Battersea a couple of years ago featured some less than perfect cars that sold for very strong prices.

Nothing if you want a left hooker.... Personally if I was spending over 300 grand, I'd probably want it in right hand drive C16 spec... But then again I live in the UK.

I believe RM charge a 13% buyers premium on cars... Ouch!

Sold mine for £140k a few years back.....

Makes the black 993 RS Clubsport at GT classics look quite good value in a way. I don't know the car but guessing its been well used. A CS is a very special at to own and drive.

some of these are getting to silly prices now. 959 is more iconic and looks smooth, that where my money would go.

What a lovely looking car but creeping into F40 territory now, with Buyers premium, and I know which way I would go, given the opportunity...

I'd take the 993 GT2 every time over an F40 and in truth over most exotica. Running K24 turbo's they are an awesome weapon. They are what everyone loves about a 964 RS without any of the down sides. The only car in a long time that I actually used to enjoy cleaning. Just a joy just to look at and in my opinion one of the best looking 911's they ever produced and so aggresive looking. Iconic. My problem was my right foot smile
Money no object I'd have my old car back and sitting in the lounge with me.

The 959 sold for 16K less than the GT2 - I had the pleasure of sitting in both at the auction - the 959 felt more special - a real work of art and, in the long run, perhaps the bargain of the two!

I think at that level its personal choice. I'd take both if they were in reach, but 993 for me if the money was a non issue and I could only choose one.
Definitely want to put some characterful wide arches on my 993. It's the ultimate look for me, like I say personal taste though smile

I shot this 993 for RM for the catalogue, and as a result got to drive it too.

Its hard to fault it, almost perfect in every way - I think this price will look like good value in a year's time.
