HMMM - this is all starting to get a little overly fussy for me!!!
I have always loved "911's" so this really pains me to say this but I think that it's starting to lose it's individuality.
There appear to be hints of Audi, Aston and Cylons in there as well as the terrible logo mish mash. So far the 997 still has the edge in terms of visual appeal and individuality.
But to be fair people said similar things about the 996 at first when compared to the outgoing 993. But that change was driven by the companies need to step up it's overall package and continued viability in a very competitive market.
Mind you give it 12 months and all will be forgotten.
