Did exactly the same six months ago and got a black 4.5 S Tiptronic with sat nav, 45,000 miles and fsh. I love it! By god it like a drink, but if you can live with that and sort the stuff that those far more in the know on PH than me, like the coolant pipes comment above, which I will now investigate, then go fot it. I think if you can get one with air suspension then you are bang on, mine sometimes rattles the fillings over speed bumps and stuff. Still love it though

Looks nice, and I cant remember ever having seen another in that colour.
In my opinion its still pretty strong money, but I guess its mileage / spec count in its favour.
I bought a 2004 4.5S last year, Ive had to replace the coil packs (spark plugs basically) - they are known to crack and allow moisture in causing a misfire. Price adds up as I did all 8 to be sure!
Ive also had to replace the prop shaft - again, with that amount of torque flying around its not unexpected having covered some mileage.
Did the front brake pads on previous MOT advisory.
Just clicked over 100,000 miles and its an incredibly capable car! It munched through the poor weather last year - snow wasnt a problem despite the ridiculous enormous wheels it had on at the time!
My advice would be to stick with stock wheels - it has quite a sporty feel for such a big wagon and putting big pimp wheels on will annoy you and rattle ya fillings out!!!
I paid £9750 which I thought was fair for a big lump of motoring!
Petrol consumption is 'staggering' if you aren't used to it though!!!

Well, six month's in and all I've have had done is the sorting of three small " niggles" thus:-
1. Something very annoying rolling around under the front passenger seat, intermittent but REALLY REALLY annoying. Turned out to be a Christmas tree decoration about 1 and 1/2 inch diameter, wtf!!
2. Constant squeak in the boot. This was trim round the rear hatch which hadn't been re-fitted properly. Again, a really irritating glitch diminishing the enjoyment of the car's really fine qualities.
3. I am a massive music player, but "something" about the stereo was not right. The answer was that the cd player was playing at 99.5% of correct speed. This was about £600 to put right, (new multi-changer) but for me had to be done.
Apart from that nothing at all. This is a proper car.
In total, about £900 to "fettle" a six year old used car, so thanks to OPC in Solihull.

No need to pm, I paid £14,500 to a Land Rover dealer in Stourbridge in April who had taken it in px for a RR Sport. Looking at the PH classifieds, I think there are some really proper ones out ther, at very keen prices, because I think people ar scared off by the mpg. I only do 6.5-7.0k mile pa, so not the overriding consideration. good luck!
If i recall the EVO guide was very negative re earlier Cayennes, cant recall exactly but may have been the 3.2's they slated. Concluded that the turbo did not have the 'issues'...re:the one you have viewed,i would be trying to negotiate the cost of upgrading coolant pipes (approx 1k..) an awful lot of vehicles have been upgraded as a preventative measure..
