Fitting bonnet carpet neatly - How to?
Discussion
So often when I look at 911's for sale I see those with a rumpled carpet under the front bonnet and think, "hmm not so nice" and then I see a similar car with the carpet smooth and neat and think, "well kept car - good condition." My 993 had a very neat looking carpet until I replaced my battery. Now it looks ragged and rumpled.
What's the secret to installing carpet neatly?

I suspect the obvious answer is patience, putting all the bits and bobs back exactly as they should go, fixing all the popper fasteners on and making sure that nothing is out of place...
My 3.2 carpet is exactly as you describe in your 'not been looked after properly' statement - because, Ive had the spare wheel out, Ive had the battery changed, I have other more important things to worry about, and its a fiddle to put everything back 'just so' when I know I'll be making use of the bonnet space again shortly afterwards...
Having said all that - If I were selling it, I would make every effort for everything to be in its place and neatly presented...
