Any chance Porsche will release 991 GT3 with rear seats?

GT3 with rear seats?.... are Porsche missing a trick?.....
I actually think you're right you know, I mean it's not like the standard GT3 is a light weight is it? Even the original RS touring had rear seats.
To be honest I wouldn't care for rear passengers but on euro tours the rear seats are perfect for excess luggage bags & although you can put things behind the front seats in the current GT3's they aren't on a bench secured by the seatbelts.
Time for clubsport & touring specs?
Interesting post. When i was looking for my GT3 i was also considering an F355, F360, Gallardo, Noble M400 & Caterham R400 (well the 500 would be plain daft wouldnt it).
What finally swung it for me was when someone pointed out that rear belts could be added to the GT3 which meant a booster seat could be put in the back and essentially we could use the car as a family too once the insurance company confirmed they had no issue.
So track weapon, weekend racer, transcontinental milemuncher and family day out wagon.
I dont think there's a modern day alternative out there....is there????

I have a pair of rear seat belts in my 6GT3, but have I personally never used them and have always thought about having them removed. My cars` previous owner had them fitted and he did Le Mans with his wife and child quite happily. I personally have never liked the idea of (small/kids) as rear passengers behind GT3 bucket seats.
The 991 GT3 will be a way bigger car and as such, do we really think that it will provide any more interior space just to accomodate any rear passengers... I think not

Agree about the buckets with belts and worse the roll cage behind. The 991 GT3 will be a way bigger car and as such, do we really think that it will provide any more interior space just to accomodate any rear passengers... I think not

Fortunately, i am a softy with cage n buckets out in favour of comforts.
Sacrolage i hear you say. Personally, it doesnt make me amy slower than the CS & RS spec cars on track so I have no issue.
I'd expect not.
Firstly, with the 997.2 GT3 they changed the chassis such that the rear is single skinned - saves weight but also means that rear seats cannot be retrofitted. I'd expect them to do so again with the 991. Secondly - why would they? Yes - there are people who would buy it but that doesn't seem to recognise that the GT3 is traditionally not one of the more profitable 911s, is made in limited numbers and they always sell all that they produce.
What I would however expect is for there to be a 991 GTS and for that to get the exact same power plant as the non-RS GT3 (which will be a derivative of the new common engine block rather than that in previous GT3s). So a wingless rear seated GT3 in all but the last digit on the boot...

Don't want to wait that long! The GTS if it comes will be end of model again, I presume.
I think the 991 GTS will be here a lot sooner than with the 997. Look at the other models in the range. With the previous generation Cayenne it was a end of range model, but is already here with the new one. With the Panamera it arrived before the facelift as well. It's obviously a tidy little profit-maker for Porsche and they like that.Pretty sure the 991 GT3 won't have rear seats. According to Autocar 2 days ago "Porsche has shaved off weight in the new GT3 by increasing the use of lightweight materials for the bodywork. Interior trim and equipment levels will also be reduced compared with standard 991 models and the rear seats will be deleted." http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/scoop/new-porsch...
