Hi all,

So the Cayman makes a nice noise, however can help thinking it needs a little more.. What are my options while under the Porsche warranty? This is for a gen 2 - 2.9 model

Also, do they all rattle and squeak over bumps frown

Thanks
G

Under manufacturers warranty: http://goo.gl/3Zw8e

Under extended warranty - PSE or nada/zilch/zero/nul point....

If you want full warranty to be retained then the only option is the Porsche Sports Exhaust Tequipment option

My Gen 1 S doesn't unless we are talking very rough surfaces.

Tailgate adjustment is a well-documented issues with Caymans. Try winding the rubber stops at each bottom corner out a bit. Alternatively, if its under warranty get your OPC to fix it. It certainly won't be the first one they will have had to do. smile

Ok, is it any good? Any ideas on what they cost?

Not sure about cost but I guess it's worth phoning a few OPC's to get some competitive pricing.

I have it on mine albeit Carman R (factory fitted) and it's noticable between it swiched on and off and it retains that characteristic "Porsche" sound which some third party exhaust change (some say for the better and some worse).

I do like the fact that it's switchable so you can have it in quieter mode when you decide you want less attention and it's also designed so that there is no drone at motorway speeds which many aftermarket exhausts suffer from although this is only what I have read and not experienced.

I guess it may be possible to find a Cayman with one fitted at a local OPC and blag a test drive to see if you like it?

One of the best options you can spec imo. You're looking at around £2300 to have one fitted post production.

The Carnewal GT Exhaust is fantastic. I have it on my spyder and it sounds amazing. Have seen some posts on other forums that some prefer it to the PSE (having had both). I haven't heard them side-by-side to compare, but the GT Exhaust sounds great IMHO.

I'm surprised that the standard exhaust is that restrictive. Do the options give more midrange or is it all top end? Which represents the best power to £££ ratio?
