996 Turbo S Ceramic Brakes conversion to steel discs.
Discussion
Could any body out there give me advise on converting ceramic discs on my 996 turbo S to good old steel ones.
A few weeks ago I noticed a tiny PIT on the front drivers side, only a couple of mil.
After several attempts and several steel discs later I managed to get the correct size. However I am struggling to find the right size rear pads.
I have read that people have made this conversion and made it sound quite simple and routine?
I have even had it to my local Porsche garage and they have appeared to have hit a blank..
There is a little urgency with this plea.. Off to the Nurburg in less than a week..
The obvious would be to get shut of the damned thing!!!!! :0)

I take it you've retained the same size 350mm x 28 rear discs but steel rather than the PCCBs ? (for the record the discs to use are the 997 GT3/Turbo steel items) If this is the case the rear pads from a steel braked Mk2 996 GT3 or 996 GT2 will fit the caliper (as the cars use the same rear caliper but cast with 10mm longer mounting bosses to enable fitment to the bigger diameter disc.
Your calipers should be the same as these :

Part number looks to be 996 352 947 03 BUT check this number is correct before ordering/shelling out your hard earned
