OPC used Boxster - To buy or not?
Discussion
Hi,
Went down to my (fairly) local OPC to check out a lowish mileage 987 2.7. It was (unsurprisingly!) in pretty good condition and had all the paperwork / service history etc.
Some questions:
The OPC warranty (2yrs) - The sales guy said it was "bumper to bumper" which was a phase I'd not come across before! I assume this would completely cover the costs of the engine going bang if the dreaded IMS issues were to hit home? The sales guy said he'd never heard of the IMS... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he might have been new!
Chap said it could be extended for another yr for approx £800 - good deal?
Number of owners - was quite surprised that there were 4 previous owners. Would this potentially cause issues come resale time?
Any thoughts or opinions welcome

Everybody that knows Porsche knows about IMS... As Nick say though the Warranty will cover it, provided you stick to standard Porsche parts and servicing etc. the warranty can be renewed after the 2 years and is a standard price. Finally, you don't say how old the car is, but I presume a Gen.1, so 4 years or so old, maybe? Either way, I wouldn't be too concerned - you have warranty protection and, in any case, these cars tend to change hands more frequently than boring stuff. Basically, buy on condition - good luck!
