Popped over to Silverstone with a couple of fellow PHers today (good to finally meet up Ben ! !)

Whilst there, we thought it too good a photo opportunity to miss . . . . .

I was expecting to see Phil Collins.

Great cars... What is the Mk1 like to drive compared to the newer Gt3s, given it was built by motorsport unlike the others?

Thanks

Here we go again..... having driven both I can assure you any differences are not down to birthplace.

Here're my pics.

Some repetition with yours, Henry, but since I'm pretty sure I'm only as sad as the rest of you there's likely to be someone else out there who enjoys looking at them too.

Great day out, guys - really nice to meet! (Again, in David's case.)

Proof that even three great cars are not a guarantee of one good picture.

If you've nothing good to say, say . . . .

To every one else, many thanks for your comments. smile

I can't believe someone was rude enough to post that.

Nice cars, are they all clubsport?

And is the divine burger stall any good ?

We didn't try the stall - I only noticed it in the pictures this morning. Perhaps we should have, since it was only on our third attempt we found somewhere that'd serve us some food. The happy side to that was the drives in between!

At least Magic919 likes the cars. He can't be all bad smile Wrong side of bed this morning, probably.

ETA: At least one of them (the Zanzibar) is a Club Sport. Mine (yellow) isn't, and I'm not 100% about Slippy's black one. I was too busy listening to it making a lovely racket.

One Clubsport (Zanzibar) One Clubsport (ish) spec, CS cage, LWT flywheel (Black) and Bens yellow car is a lovely "comfort" spec version (with buckets)

Sorry, as Ben says, we couldn't vouch for it ! But we can recommend The Old Auctioneer in Banbury ! !

Looking good lads thumbup

Ben, you really should put up a full build thread on your car in the "readers cars" section, it's got to be one of the best mk1's out there these days hasn't it?

Any Porsche PH'rs going to carfest north next weekend?

I don't know about best, Craig, but it's got to be one of the most expensive by now biggrin
(Gulp.)

I'll make that thread a wee autumn project - good idea. It'll be fun working out how to detail it all.

Ben, your car is a peach. It drives like a 20K miles car.
Once my SY car has been re-comissioned, you can drive it and compare it back to back with yours. You'll then see yours is now up there with the best of the Mk 1's out there smile

Your car looked and sounded superb yesterday. Very glad I've got a SY example having seen (and more importantly followed) yours yesterday smile
