Was on the ground having a look where all the black liquid on my garage floor is coming from and the PSE on my 2011 Spyder is rusting quite badly, there are some braided hoses that I assume open the internal valve. These are now dangling loose as the clips that used to hold them in place have rusted completely through. Rusty liquid is also leaking out of the joint just behind where the pipes split to the two back boxes.

A little research suggests Porsche are not interested as it is subject to External Influences and therefore not a warranty item.

The car only has 5800 miles, surely this cannot be normal. Everything else under the rear looks almost brand new.

Take it in anyway. Wheel corrosion is down to "external influences" and they've been refurbed under warranty.

I would be asking about the oil leak, not the slightly rusty exhaust.

Don't think it's oil, it's puddles of black sooty water. Black from the exhaust and water that I guess is causing the rust. Cannot believe the exhaust is only steel and not stainless on a modern car.

It's not slightly rusty, parts have rusted completely through and when you grab the exhaust you can hear it crunch. Can't describe it any other way, the joint is not solid hence the leak from it, rusting!! Rapidly getting hacked off, thought I'd bought a quality product!!

Porsche are usually great about protecting components against corrosion that other manufacturers don't seem to pay any attention to detail.

Get Porsche GB involved if the dealership makes a fuss about replacement?

Forget the warranty, I would think fit for purpose (or not) is more appropriate!

Isn't the PSE stainless like the standard exhausts?

Also it sounds like there is a lot of condensation, do you do a lot of short runs?

+1

Though the dealer should sort as they'll just claim the warranty work/money from Porsche GB...
