Porsches at Castle Hedingham
Discussion
Noticed this on the way to a customer this morning, event this Sunday. Anyone ever been and recommend it or otherwise for a couple of hours of Porsche indulgence?

Yep, highly recommended if you're into pre 73 911's, been a couple of times myself, and a stunning venue. Only thing I'd say is that in my opinion it's bl**dy expensive, £20 a car & driver, £5 more per passenger.
Seems the 'Porsche tax' doesn't only apply to parts/servicing!
But I shall still be going

Yeah - lovely place. Not been to the Porsche show (and will miss it again this year), but was best man for a friend's wedding there - lovely place. Think the owner is a bit of a car nut - had an M5 IIRC.
If the weather's nice, it's a nice place to spend some time, and could only be improved by an influx of classic Porsches. Can imagine the traffic gets a bit tricky though - it's a quiet little place, Hedingham.

This is about the only non-race car event I regularly attend.
It is supported by Porsche GB and Porsche AG and virtually all the classic Porsche specialists. Attendees come from all over the world and the setting is quite stunning. Superb cars and relaxed atmosphere.
Highly recommended.

What a great way to spend a Sunday! When the sight of a 2.7RS doesn't blow you away because you've just pored over 39 others, you know you're somewhere special!
Few pics here if anyone is interested:

There was even JK there having he's pic taken with people and even with someones dog! Must have brought back some 'van outen memories for him' haha and also some ageing rock star in a RSR and I've no idea if it was Paul Weller or fekkin Paul gasgoine but that was the point it was all about the cars. Nice one PCGB.
PS last year I heard Stephen Mummery from PCGB saying that if this event was more midlands based then it wud be better attended but thats bollix as it was packed and the venue is the best
JK was in a plum coloured RS which actually looked a lot better than it sounds!
The orange RSR is owned by Liam Howlett. Stunning car.
Keith Flint was also there but only as a spectator. I bumped into him and his wife in the car park. What a lovely bloke to speak to. Likes nothing better than to talk about his bike racing and fast cars!
Good day out overall, only downside was that i thought the enterance fee was a bit rich but not a moan, just an observation.

There u go u are what u sow
I thought it was a fantastic event, and worth it just to see so many of the best original RSs and RSRs in the world in one setting. It'll probably be 2022 before that record is matched.
However, I did think that the numbers of 356s were down on previous years.
Would have been a valuable insight into Porsche heritage and ownership for the nouveau-Porsche brigade.

A good day for sure, much enjoyed. A quick 5mins with JK really proved what a petrol head is really is. HAts off (no pun) to him for driving/displaying some of his collection. His cars are certainlt not all garage queens - he races another 911 of his. Despite the press reputation he came across as a down to earth and nice bloke. Some pics of his RS...
