I've done it a couple of times in England - madam takes the dog, children and luggage in the Estate car and I follow behind or lead the way in my car.

I suggested it to a mate the other day and he was absolutely horrified.

I think it's an excellent way to travel.

Did this a couple of years ago to south of France in my 930 while the wife and kids flew Ryanair - I took 2 days to do it and loved every minute

I have a couple of petrolhead mates who seem to manage to get their holidays not quite in sync with the rest of the family & travel separately too but they do moan about getting sand in them! It's a great idea IMHO smile

Yeah, I don't really like other people so much. Having my own personal chariot is the only way to travel.

Did it once.
Wife took the kids and most of the luggage in one car, I endured a very stressful journey by myself in mine smile

Buggered that right up - just done 1650 miles in the BMW 4 up. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Next time I'll go in the Spyder and wait for everyone else to catch up...

I was trying to convince my wife that it'd be much easier for her to fly up to Scotland with the nipper and let me do the long drive up.
Once the flights were booked I was going to suggest taking the Porsche biggrin
I've just found out Ryanair no longer fly to Prestwick frown

I did it this summer - wife and kids in the Volvo to angelsey, me in the 993 taking the long route via evo triangle etc. Was great fun and meant we could do the odd day trip in my car too. Thoroughly recommended!

I did this, we went up to the highlands over the summer with my wife and her parents.

I followed behind in a lover 2012 C2S cab which was given to me while my car was being fixed, we did something like 1200 miles in total.
