Castle Combe 27th August
Discussion
Just to let you know that there's a meeting tomorrow which includes 2 Porsche Club Championship races and a Tri-Marque Challenge (Porsche, Ferrari and, err, Jag?).
I'm just travelling down now, not raced there since 2010 (2 poles, 2 wins, driver of the day
), hoping to walk the track tonight as a reminder. It's likely to be a challenge to beat the more powerful 911's on such a quick track but we'll be doing our best in the Hartech Boxsters.
There's a preview here: www.gooseracing.com
It's a great circuit for spectating, you can get very close to the track all the way round and see most of the rest of it from wherever you are.

Was thinking about going over tomorrow to spectate but the weather forecast is for heavy rain all day.
I'm sure I don't have to remind you but Combe is very, very slippery when wet.
Good luck anyway and here's hoping you bring home the silver.

Slippery indeed - particularly the bumpy apex on Camp that makes the back go light and which catches out people not so familiar with Combe in the wet. I learned the hard way ... but avoided heroics (and the pit wall), ate humble pie and slid into the infield.

NB everyone has to drop their two lowest scores so the battles at the top of each class are very close -- all hangs on the last 3 races at Silverstone on 21/22 Sept timetable here:
