If it's a big engine bay such as a Dodge or Plymouth, yes maybe.

If it's a little engine bay, such as a Mini or Reliant, it might be a little more difficult.

I think the decade of manufacture is less important than the size of the engine bay.

Sorry I was talking a 70's 911 pre 74 shell. Maybe a 3.2 shell could be used......

Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. You have to remember that they where never designed with water cooling in mind. What are you trying to achieve ?

At this stage I'm not sure. Part of me thinks that it's so mechanically perfect and very honest that it may be better to leave it as is but then once I start looking at odds and ends on flea bay I'll start thinking time to cosmetically improve it.
Having read so many horror stories I'm just glad I've got a good one., I actually think that to run it alongside my gt3, which was the original intention, will compliment both cars perfectly so I'll just enjoy the driving experiences as they are.
Good combo I recon

yes
I suspect it'll be much easier to have an air-cooled engine built to similar power output and would look better too. Unit 11 built a bespoke 1973 car for a Hong Kong client - the engine was a 964 unit modified to run Motec and throttle bodies etc but had the raw fibre glass surrounding trim made for it (to look like an original RSR(?) I believe) so it looked right for the period look. It produced around 360bhp (but cost somewhere between £30k - £40k for everything.

The grey Wevo car is an early 911 (well, 912 actually) with a GT3 drivetrain. I think there is a build thread on Pelican.

SS7

Hello! Yes if it was an angry bypass-sounding black/black wheel GT3 then it was me! I was there checking out a red Targa as a DD to replace my Fiat. They had to move your 964 out of the way - it sounded the dogs dooglies!! They mentioned it'd just been bought by a GT3 owner so figured it must be you! What's it had done to the exhaust? Sounded amazing.

It's just got a G pipe fitted. Massively different drive to my gt3 and when the suns out With the windows down its cracking fun. They price their cars well. The Peter Morgan inspection I had done valued it bang on what I paid and they spent 2 days going right thru the car. I spotted the targa it was in the garage past the reception as u drive in? Looked nice. Those black wheels on your gt3 look good. I may have to get some on my white gt3.
You ever do ace cafe Porsche nite?

Decided against the Targa in the end. Definitely has character though ... Got a nagging feeling I may actually pop per again to see it!? These 911's definitely get under your skin... No, not done the Porsche night at Ace yet, when's the next one? I'm off to the GT3/964RS BBQ today though! Let's hope the weather holds up.... Ps black wheels rock! Would look great on a white GT3, check out JD27 (I think that's his profile name), his white/black GT3 looks superb

Damn I didn't know about the BBQ be sure to load up some pics.
The ace cage Porsche meet dates will be on the website. Attendance is a little mixed tbh. Heddingham castle classic next weekend is well worth a visit if you like the early cars. Aircooled Definately gets under your skin
