Just a quickie,

Having had the propshaft replaced on the Cayenne, I'd like to reset the gearbox memory so it learns MY driving style.

The tech at Porsche advised that disconnecting the battery for an hour or so would be enough for this memory to clear - But what else will it impact?

I guess all my satnav memory will clear, but thats not an issue.
Im hoping the stereo / satnav unit doesnt have a passcode!?
What else am I overlooking?

Thanks in advance.

I think I might leave it until I can get the car over to Matt @ Autowerke and let him either reset it via plug in, or to deal with disconnecting and any resulting issues.

Probably get the gearbox oil changed and sorted at the same time and see what smoothness ensues thereafter wink

To counter the above post by Callughan, when I removed the battery from my 997 I had no issues.

At first there was a message about PSM being unop, but as soon as the car moved a couple of meters it reset itself. The best bit was that the PCM even connected with something (GPS, radio?) and set itself at the right time and date. Even my preset radio stations were maintained as was the driver's memory seat.

I took the battery out of my Cayenne S, drove to get a new one, had lunch, came back and sodded about for a bit longer before fitting the new one . On the initial startup it showed air suspension fault. After driving for 100 yds and restarting this cleared and has been trouble free since. Don't be put off doing simple jobs by the techno wizardry !
