Finally after much deliberation and searching I collect this wonderful car Friday or Saturday.

Anyone recommend an insurer?

Anyone want to buy a well loved 996 C2?

Can't wait!

Excellent choice sir!
I'm with admiral on a multicar policy and my 996Turbo is £400/year on 7k miles.
(just to compare, the 530d m/sport is £500/year).
Drive the 997 turbo and enjoy it

£768 with Admiral that's the cheapest on Moneysupermarket.co.uk. 40 years old, 10 years NCB, Garaged, No points.

Try a moneysupermarket quote with street parking or driveway.

Wouldn't recommend this if you're going to keep it garaged...

Lovely looking car...enjoy.

As for insurance I've been with Hastings Direct for years when I bought my Cayman S last year the premium cost £333 comp protected NCB which I was delighted with.

Sir??!!

Well done Veronica... looks lovely - IIRC you've been looking for a turbo for about 4 years, so nice to get one finally, especially a 997. And Many Happy Returns!

I am having a nightmare with insurance.

I had 7 years NCB upto 2009 then I switched to a classic policy for the Carrera 2 for the last 3 years. The insurers are saying basically I have no no claims bonus as that's only valid for 2 years even though I have never made a claim in my life furiousfurious

that 7 year NCB unless you keep it running with that company will expire after 2 years, but you still have your 3 year on a classic policy which that company are obliged to supply to your current broker/insurer, they're just trying it on, I think its call intimidation, done in a manner they think can get away with, have none of it.

Yes but to be told you've gone from 10 to 3 ( or even zero) is hard to swallow when you've had insurance continually throughout that period!!

That's my old car.

Blimey I remember it well. Absolute disaster. The Turbos were fried (Well thats my own fault for not letting her cool down on tickover after an all dayer at the Ring, but don't tell Porsche who fixed it under warranty).

Then the damn gearbox went. Half way round the Ring on my 4th lap and BANG. That cost a wad to have rebuilt and I was never happy with it afterwards.

The worse thing though was when it was T-Boned at the Hangar Lane interchange. I was suprised it wasn't written off, but hey ho.

Decided to sell her after she was fixed, I just felt the car felt unsafe to drive afterwards ....... always pulling to the left.

Anyway, hope you have better look than I did with her. thumbup

Joking, only joking. Never owned one. Lovely looking car. Best of luck and happy birthday. biggrin
