Crikey. Long time since i've looked at GT3 prices, but if in the market to change, would be tempted by this car. Quite fancy another GT3 at some point - colour black, but ideally 'comfort' spec though scratchchin

Do you reckon this car would still be worth £40k in 2 years?

Agreed, good price for an OPC, esp with 2yr Warranty. Not sure on £40k in 2yrs though. I reckon slightly more! The 996 RS seems to be the only 996 holding a torch against shocknig depreciation, who will hold this for the 997 ?

7GT3 just looks awesome. I might need to do it again. It's a car you can forgive for being... impractical smile

I reckon, a bit of deprecation and 1 service, over 2 years - this car (and most entry-level 7GT3's) will be cheap motoring.

The bad news is, that was a £45k max trade-in/sale for someone, so I suspect £40k in 2 years may be ambitious?

If a 997 gt3 is only worth 40k in two years where does that leave a 996 gt3?
30k?

Does seem a step cheaper than when I was considering one a couple of months ago when £55k was a good independent price and circa £60k for an OPC car

yeah i thought they were min-£60k @ OPC - that's why i was quite surprised (tempted) at the above car and price. It had me reaching for the calculator and doing man-maths biggrin

Early car with around 30k miles about right for just under 50k bid.

Probably right. My crystal ball also says that the '6 RS will be £70-80k and 7.1 RS around £50-60k.

Just a thought - do these cars have any under-body protection?

If not, how would you stop a 7GT3 from going rusty from underneath?

I'm thinking of getting into one.

hehe

I've had to go have a word with myself. I am not changing my car this year. Can't. Won't. No.

could be tempted by a 'comfort' GT3 though

That's pretty good value esp with a 24 month OPC warranty, won't hang around too long I'm sure. However I'd be (hope not) very surpised if 7GT3s were sub £40k in two years time. You'd think that a PDK 91GT3 at plus £100k would see 7 values stabilise between 50-60(?) no..... All IMHO

Have you checked out the 997 GT3 at Portiacraft? Non-OPC obviously, but £49k for 14k miles, Comfort spec.

because it rarer and last of the true no thrills cars

I hope 996 RS prices go sky high as when people cannot afford them to use any more they look to the next model down which caues a demand smile and prices rises

always happened always will.

look at 911 E/T prices now the 911 S has gone to silly money.

Top end limited models always drag up prices on the next model down.

the 964 is the car which has moved the last 2 years once 12k now 20k for a nice one now the 964 RS is not really attainable.

GT3 price are super mileage and condition dependent, changes price 10k either way.

Fair enuff . Cant see the point in owning these things and not driving them or being scared to put mileage on them.
What happens if they don't go up in value. You've not driven it and still lost money. Pointless
