Hi everyone, I have a 2001 996 cab, and when I close the roof, it normally needs 2 or 3 attempts at closing properly. It almost finishes the process, but tries to latch down before the roof meets the top of the screen, it then seems to realise it has'nt gone far enough forward, and has another attempt. It always completes properly on the second or third attempt, and very occaisionally works first time. Has anyone else had this? Does anyone know if it is just an adjustment, or new parts??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

You could try stretching the roof fabric - put the roof up and wash the roof fabric, allow it to dry and apply a reproofing solution (porsche do an reproof kit - 11.99 inc VAT - PM and I'll send you it) as the roof is 11 yrs old the fabric may have lost some compliance.

A calibration may help too - the system works off a potentiometer on the NS hydraulic ram, the ECU is flashed with potentiometer values during a calibration that are cross matched as the roof is operated, the values may need updating - using a PIWIS tester.

That really was an answer!! Many thanks for that, I'll give both a go, a brand new Porsche Centre has just opened up a mile up the road from me, so I'll use this as an excuse to pop in there for the bits, thanks again boys and girls!!
