My first Porsche...
Discussion
Hi all
New to the forums. Just been reading the posts, lots of great info! Picked up my "dream car" last week from Porsche. Decided to go for an 18-month old gen 2 987 Boxster... Absolutely over the moon with it. Is there any advice you can give a Porsche virgin on ownership/upkeep?
Looking forward to contributing to the forums!!!!

Excuse the crappy iPhone pics. Haven't had a chance with this weather to take it out and get some proper pics of it!

Beautiful car, welcome to the club. Now start planning that European tour! If you need some ideas http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...
just had a white boxster S gen 2 as a loaner over the weekend, really enjoyed it, well apart from i wouldn't be able to live with the rock hard suspension - PASM all the way for me i think, i must be getting old LOL, my 997 felt like a magic carpet in comparison when i picked it up ! also the boxster clutch felt really heavy, for a 61 plater with 5000 miles i was quie suprised is this the norm? i had a gen 2 cayman before as a loaner and the clutch was like melted butter...

I think it's subjective! Clutch is heavier than I'm used to but I've done a lot of miles in traffic over the last fortnight and haven't found it a problem. Congratulation on your new car, first Porsche and quite simply one of the best open top cars money can buy. You have chosen a great way to get to know about Porsche. The handling and the character of the Boxster on a fast country roads will make you smile, while the practicality and economy on long hauls will fascinate. Plan some good long journeys and enjoy.
It looks great in white, by the way!
