I recently acquired a pair of black fabric Recaro Pole Position seats. I fancy putting these in my midnight 964 Carrera 2 and was going to get them retrimmed in black with triple blue or triple grey cushions as per the 964RS.

Then I thought, why not do something a little more "individual". Tan leather with houndstooth maybe. Something to just brighten up the interior (which is blue with black dash, currently blue sports seats).

Thoughts?

Joel

PS: Recommendations on a good retrimmer who doesn't charge the earth in the SE also welcome.

Joel, Southbound are the only answer. Speak to David, but theyre far from cheap! PPs are hard to trim though and a poorly executed leather trim will look terrible and still not be cheap.

I saw a pair that they did in black, recently, and they were brilliant.

cobblers, there are plenty of trimmers that do fantastic work for much lower prices, though admittedly southbound are very good too.

I've personally seen very impressive things from Capitol seating, they're the uk distributer & there standard of retrimming is very good, or good enough for the redbull f1 team anyways....

By 'cobblers', are you trying to say that you disagree? If so then say that and dont be such a tt.
You've never heard the word "cobblers" being used to describe "rubbish"? Don't thank me for the education, but it is quite popular-round my way at least thumbup

I've used B-Trim in North London/Hertfordshire on a couple of occasions, their work is excellent - and good value

I dont usually recommend Southbound, but PPs are very difficult to recover well and I havent seen anyone elses work that is in the same league, even on seats originally supplied in leather or similar.

Theyre expensive, but Ive seen seats which were disappointing which havent cost a great deal less.

Thanks for the input guys. I will start with a quote from Southbound and take it from there. Here are a few crazy ideas.

And of course the classic

I can put you onto some new black Pasha or red tartan, if you like.

Thanks, will think about it. I have Pascha in the 928 (blue-black interior, light blue metallic exterior) so I'm looking for something different in the 911.

I really like the houndstooth actually. Think that will look very classy in a midnight 964.

Are you deleting the rear?

Nope, just putting in the seats. No RS door cards, no rear seat delete, just the one totally, instantly reversible change. Which, IMHO, gives you 85% of the interior "RS Experience" for 20% of the ballache.

I was tempted to go "RS-ifying" but my 964 is too nice, so it will be staying factory. Well, it has H&R springs and a cone air filter, 277bhp chip, all fitted by previous owner.

But it's plenty quick enough for me, a '64RS is visually almost identical to a lowered C2 anyway. The only other thing I'm doing is putting the indicators back to amber!

The only reason I was asking was because it would do my nut in if the rear seats didn't match!

But then I am a bit funny like that....

Pinstripe too! Although I didnt think that it was offered on 964s, or would be desirable, although I like it.
