Battery recommendation for 987.1 S
Discussion
Following my free OPC health check at the weekend the Porsche technician indicated I would probably need a new battery in order to add a 2 year warranty as it was a bit sluggish starting, so when I got home I connected it up to my CTEK charger. I left it connected for most of the afternoon and all seemed ok but when I tried to start the car this morning it didn't have sufficient charge to be able to start the engine.
I'm now torn between buying a battery from OPC for £250 (ridiculous amount of money I know) as I'm still considering adding a 2 year warranty later in the year (don't currently have a warranty) but am also after recommendations for alternative batteries - when I had my BMW 330 I bought a Bosch battery from Costco and seem to remember it came with a 4 year warranty.
Has anyone bought a replacement battery recently for their Boxster and if so, do you mind saying where from and how much you paid please?
Thanks.

Take a look at EuroCarParts online. They will sell you a Bosch S4 or S5 for a fraction of the price of a regular OPC battery. The crank rate is much better so although it's new, will start quicker in any case.
HOWEVER if you need an extended warranty there is only one way - you have have to buy the official deal.
