Hi,

What are your views on the Bose sound system in the 981? Any better than the crappy system in the 987? Or was it just me that didn't like it..?

987.1 Bose was crap, 987.2 Bose was infinitely better. I suspect the 981 Bose is a bit more like the gen2 stuff. smile

I think for most mere mortals BOSE is more than adequate and would rarely be described as crap LOL!

Have now listened to both the enhanced sound pack and the Bose, pleased to say that the Bose sounded way better

I had BOSE in my 987 Gen 1 and now in my 981.

It was fine in the old car and is fine in the new one, better than the Sound Package Plus, which sounded soft and buzzy to me. The BOSE sounds much crisper and cleaner, probably just due to better quality speakers.

Perhaps not as good as the £801 option price would suggest, but I think that's true of most of the options! smile

I certainly thought it worth the £404 over the Sound Package Plus and do not regret the expenditure.

In reality, it is hard to appreciate hi-fidelity in a loud, open 2 seater sports car. I just wanted to be able to listen to music or the radio at high enough volume to compete with the wind and engine noise without buzzing and poorly controlled bass.

Cheers,

Geoff

Bose is best of the options available. I am hoping that by the time they introduce the Cayman they will offer the Burmester
