A question I do not know the answer is what do the dealers do with the cars they cannot sell ? Do they sell them at auctions ?

I doubt they get a car in they know they cant sell. I suspect if its not, they move it from ****OPC to another ****OPC etc? I know older 996's they get in at my local OPC they pass off to a couple of high end Sports car dealers local to me. Looked at a C4S that had come from Bournemouth OPC as a trade in.

Sorry when I said dealers I meant indies and not OPCs. I have seen cars that have been advertised for at least 6 months so what do they do with those cars if they cannot sell them ?

Auction or drop the price. Funny you should say that as i watch with interest a couple of Indies and you start to notice the ones that stay with them for a bit. Makes me laugh as im out in Afghan and cant buy until my rtn in Oct but im seeing cars that i want, right spec, price etc but cant do anything about it. Even seen one car go down in price and still i cant do anything about it!

Are you sure they're not SOR?

That was because Mullen loved it so much, he deliberately put off every punter who was interested in the car (and there were many I'm sure)!

rofl

It was indeed here for a while but let's be honest, the market for a pink Boxster is quite limited.

That said we did prove that there is a bum for every seat.

Yupp, also I was told they tend not take cars that are older than 6 years old. Which could be just for that OPC as there are older cars on the network and cars are able to have warranty to 9 years.

It should not make any financial sense for a dealer to keep a car for 5 months or so except if the car is sold on a SOR basis. What i do not understand though is that some dealers are clearly doing this as high value stock do not shift fast although these dealers are not prima facie SOR dealers.
