Quick question regarding turbos in general.

Is the for example K16 turbo as fitted to the 996tt the same K16 as fitted to any other engine ?
Or would a K16 have a variation of adjustable internals etc to suit a particular application ?

Not so much the internals that are different but the mounting flanges. For example, 993 and 996 K16s are not interchangeable.

Not interchangeable period or not interchangeable in your example without the 996 mounting brackets ?

It's not simply a bracket but the body of the hot side that is different - not a simple DIY swap.
