987 boxster s '05 oil consumption on hard euro run
Discussion
Chaps,
Had my boxster s for 1,000 miles now (has 57k on the clock) and am about to undertake a euro trip of around 2,500 miles and taking into account the ring, stelvio and some pretty hard driving. When I bought the car from Porsche East London they said the major service had recently been done along with the 100 point check. Do I change the oil before I go on the trip or if not, how much should I expect to use on the trip an therefore take with me?
What oil do other users recommend? Am I to assume the dealer is using Mobil 0w-40 as I've heard mixed reviews about it?
Please excuse my naievity, am new to the porsche world!

Did a similar trip myself a few months after running in and don't recall much needed other than the standard top up expected on new engines. I can't recall right this moment what the segments on the oil display equate to but a quick search on here and you'll uncover a wealth of info each p-car owner tends to pick up.
At your mileage, I wouldn't expect much consumption but you could always carry with you the 1ltr jobbies as backup for topping up should you not find the standard mobile 1 stuff locally.
