964 Heating / Air Con Issues - London - advice please

My 964 C4 has had a variety of issues with the heating / air con system, and I'm looking for advice on where to get it fixed? (Smell of burning when the heaters on / probably another blown blower motor etc)
My London-based indie specialist is brilliant, and incredibly thorough, but reckons there is no alternative to burnt out blower motors than new ones from Porsche @ £500 + VAT a time.
Any suggestions, as I haven't got the skills or space to do it myself? Independent car electrics expert? Or is the system best left to Porsche experts?

It sounds like you're talking about the front blowers, not the rear blower?
If so, I'm not aware of alternatives other than Porsche parts and an Indy to fit them. However - be warned, the driver side is (relatively) easy to get to - once you've moved the fuse box and firewall out the way..... but the passenger side is a lot harder, due to all the air con rubbish. So you need to expect a fairly hefty labour bill too I'm afraid.
