Woah! That felt horrible just watching, god knows what it would have felt like from the drivers seat, hope you and the car are not too bruised.i had my first experience of aquaplaning last Saturday, didn't end well.
In the same situation, would you do anything differently? It just sounded like the tyres jumped up and sat on the water, I guess at that point you are just a passenger!

i tried doing everything, it was like slow motion when it went, i initially corrected, then steered into the spin sort of trying to avoid wall all whilst going on and off the brakes, nothing i did had any effect on the direction or speed the car. the only thing i would of done differently would be to jump over the pit wall slower so i don't rip my overals
Wow - bad luck mate! That straight holds a lot of surface water when it's wet.
I had a big sphincter moment in exactly the same place last year on a very wet day...luckily the traction control, rather than me, saved it.
Hope rear not too bad and other panels repairable/ surface damage.

toyo r888.
just ordered some wets today for next time, not risking r888's in the wet again.
That's why then. Looking at the video there's way too much standing water for R888s, I had a similar experience on the motorway on A048s on the way to an event, luckily held the car and avoided a crash. The sheer quantity of water overcomes the tread and your off....just ordered some wets today for next time, not risking r888's in the wet again.
I run T1Rs now whenever any puddles are about, hope you get the car fixed OK.
I'm not sure whether to say "oh bad luck" or "oh, you were lucky there"
On a related note - did anyone see the second Carrera Cup race on Sunday from Thruxton? All on slicks in what became a wet race
- just watching it had me very twitchy. Fantastic to watch and amazing how much grip they seemed to have (not to mention big balls).

Must have big balls racing in the wet fella, daren't take mine out if it's even spitting - not enough talent
TX.
the size of my balls is nothing compared to the chap who qualified a DB4 on pole with a 1:12, a car with questionable handling in the dry and easily worth £200k
