To renew the Porsche warranty I have had to have the parrot car kit removed. I have purchased a sim card and inserted it and it's saying " internal telephone not available sim not ready". I have tried another sim and still can't get it to work. The car has PCM. Any ideas folks, it's driving me mad!!!!

There is a possibility that the car has not got the telephone module installed even though the sim slot is there ....costs about 500 quid to have the module fitted.

Wow, thought it was standard with the PCM, is there a way to
Check whether it's been fitted?

As said, got a feeling that PCM doesn't include telephone as standard. Guess you'd need to check the original options. Stuck a PAYG sim in my 997 slot and it worked straight away.

Just done the same thing with no bother. Somewhere I read that new voda sims are sightly smaller (hard to believe) and need "arranging" to make contact (also hard to believe), just a thought - guess you are putting it in right, contacts up cut off front RH side?

Depending on what version pcm you have, the function might need to be enabled by an opc.

The telephone module was an option when purchasing new ....it can be retrofitted / activated though.

Have a look in your maintenance and guarantee booklet and check out the options list. The code for the 'phone module is 666, if it's there you have it, if it ain't....frown

Unfortunately, I think you already have?

Not having Bluetooth in the older cars is a pain - mine is 2007.
