Hi, i would advise against modifying the 2.5l engine at all.

Just get a turbo engine fitted to it. I think porschapart have a boxster with turbocharged engine installed.

There are many other factors to consider like suspension and brakes... By the time you have sorted this you may as well just buy a 996tt!

A USA company TPC (Turbo Performance Center) I think offers a supercharger/turbocharger kit for the 2.5l car.

Here is the link to TPC:

http://www.tpcracing.com/

Visit the site or call ask if TPC has a 2.5l kit and does it have a shop it can recommend in the UK to install the kit.

Another thing you can do for more performance is to find and install a 3.4l or 3.6l engine from a 996 911 into your car. The engine fits without much work and there are a number of shops that have done this with good results.

The bigger engine brings with it more power, more torque, without the negatives a turbo/supercharger setup have. If you want to help offset the cost of the larger engine you could offer your 2.5l engine for sale.

Costwise... the supercharger/turbocharger kit might be (might be) a bit cheaper at least initially.

Look around. Do some research. Find out for yourself.

Sincerely,

Rockster.

Also, keep an eye on 911 & Porsche World magazine - they have a 996/TPC turbo project on the go at the moment. I think Nine Excellence are bolting the kit on, after Hartech checked and rebuilt the engine internals.

Everything else will need uprated to cope with power hike so sell the boxster & get a more powerful standard car. Your wallet will thank you in the end wink
