is that a valid number plate? 3 numbers and 3 letters should be the other way round?
Yes it is a valid layout, you can have numbers then letters.1/2 numbers with 1/2 letters
3 letters with 1-3 numbers
3 letters with 1-3 numbers and a letter
1 letter, 1-3 numbers, 3 letters
2 letters, 2 numbers, 3 letters

just for my own edification - what era are those plates from? I thought we'd gone
1/2 numbers with 1/2 letters
3 letters with 1-3 numbers
3 letters with 1-3 numbers and a letter
1 letter, 1-3 numbers, 3 letters
2 letters, 2 numbers, 3 letters
My Mum in the 60's had a 1964 Mini Copper with 910 GPY, registered from new with this rather than a B reg.1/2 numbers with 1/2 letters
3 letters with 1-3 numbers
3 letters with 1-3 numbers and a letter
1 letter, 1-3 numbers, 3 letters
2 letters, 2 numbers, 3 letters
I suspect it is a copy. Very well done excellent detailing.
One of the few Kit cars which, done properly, could be worth as much as it cost to build.
TBH two things suggest that to me.
Firstly the comment it was registered recently. Secondly quality of panel fit and finish makes me think it has been recently put together.
An original is this state would be worth a fortune.
I think its a copy but without really detailed chassis photos difficult to be certain. Good Post.
Glorious car, whatever it is.

This is more interesting than the 356... The black roof is very rare and I have only sen it on ONE press car, which also had ceramics.
However this also has a cheesey stripe down the side.
Yeah. I've seen lots of red/red and black/black, but only on this photo and the press car black/red. I've never seen red roof on black interior though. However this also has a cheesey stripe down the side.
Stickers-and-sunroof RS 60 edition aside, that 356 is beautiful.

From the DVLA website
Date of Liability 01 11 2012
Date of First Registration 04 11 2011
Year of Manufacture 1958
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1600cc
I am not expert on DVLA registration but I would think this is definitely a copy registered as a Porsche. Some people do that pretty regularly as other topics on Kit Cars show. But I doubt it is actually an original 356. Date of Liability 01 11 2012

I think the year of manufacture refers to the car upon which it is based.
It could be imported but I suspect not.
Excellent post: it is a eal conundrum.

Why build a left hand driver replica, it's not out the realms of possibility but all the replica 356s I have seen are right hand drive.I think the year of manufacture refers to the car upon which it is based.

Nice cars but not in the league of this one which is a real gem. Maybe it is genuine. Without more detail we cannot be certain.

I vaguely toyed with the idea of buying a 1957 Speedster for my 50th birthday since I figured it would be cool to have a car of the same vintage as me. That was until I looked at the prices. Which were north of £100k at the time
I still have a replica on my shopping list though
