I am looking at buying a 993 Cab. Seller seems genuine. However, the hpi check has come back as follows:

Plate Transfer

The current plate was transferred to this vehicle on 23/03/2006
XXXXX was applied to this vehicle on 10/08/2004
This VRM has been recorded as being written-off
The insurance write-off was recorded on 23/11/2000 against a PORS
XXX(Current plate) was applied to this vehicle on 28/10/1994
There are no interests recorded against (current plate)

VRM recorded as previously used or registered abroad before first registration with the DVLA.
VRM not recorded as exported
VRM not recorded as scrapped by DVLA
This vehicle is registered in Northern Ireland, as a result the HPI Check guarantee does not apply

Can anyone help me understand what this means? Does it mean it was written off when it had a private plate on it or does it mean that the plate was written off while on another car? I also presume this means it isnt a UK car?

All help and advice gratefully received. thanks in advance,

Andrew

Exactly as you say, something else was written off in 2000, the 993 got the reg plate of that car in 2004.

Northern Ireland is in the UK. It's where my car came from. However, the NIDVLA and the mainland DVLA use seperate systems and one cannot provide meaningful information on cars that come from either?

As for deciphering that HPI report...?

Perhaps one of the traders on here may be able to advise?
