Hi,

I have got a 2011 Cayman Gen2 with the basic CDR-30 radio/cd player. Whilst a CD can carry a large number of MP3 coded files, I am wondering if the "official" cd changer can be retro fitted. This would allow me to carry most of my music around and not have to bother with changing disks or using my iPod (via the Aux input and no charging capability).

Whilst the iPod works for weekends away (just about has enough battery power to last) I would prefer a fuller solution.

Failing that, are there any good double-DIN units that can also provide SatNav, Bluetooth phone interface and a USB input (I could then put my files on a 16GB or 32GB memory stick).

The overall plan is to be able to do tours of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Western Europe (France, Germany, etc) without having to carry multiple battery chargers etc...

I wonder if you get a USB adaptor to connect to the CD changer port? Fitted one the the factory head unit in my old MX-5, which enabled me to fit a memory stick. Cost about £75.

I haven't tried one of these but I've heard good things.

Might be another option?
