I have had my car detailed and most things are now really tidy.

HOWEVER.

I struggle to get the front lenses back to being nice and transluscent.

I thought about putting just the lenses in the dish washer? Good idea? Bad idea?

Otherwise Brand new at Porsche are £100 a piece...

Opinions?

it is the inside that is dirty and it is thoroughly difficult to get access to it.

I was wondering if someone had bought brand new ones after trying many things.

ECP charge about half of that IIRC, they are a Bosch unit so any agent can get them.
But anyway, as you said, try the dishwasher & report back biggrin

....I bought new lenses for my 993 but not from an OPC and they certainly were not one hundred smackers a piece....I think I might have used Porsch Parts or maybe Design 911 but I am not at home at the moment so can't check my records....honestly.....just buy new ones it makes a big diffence the only thing being the other lights look crap in comparison....still have not got round to changing those yet.

Euro car parts or Jasmine will sell you new ones for about £60 each.

Make the front of the car look nice and fresh. Problem is once you have done those you will want to change the indicator/ sidelights and foglights as well.

Eric - sorry off topic (and on Blackberry so can't PM you), but check Mercedes forum, there is a R107 SL for sale thread, low mileage...and the colors you are after.

Pierre, got it thanks. Appreciate the feedback...

As for the 993 headlights, I ordered a brand new pair from reading and with a little discount, it is very much a no brainer. The other lights around the car look very nice and crisp. So should be fine. Will report when done...
