Thought I'd share my recent ordering process with you.

After having owned a Cayman which I bought back in 2007 and then sold at the end of 2010 to buy a BMW X6, I've finally got my act together an placed an order for a new 991.

I opted for the base 911 with PDK which is plenty fast enough for me! Full spec set out below:

Basalt Black
20 inch Carrera S wheel
Agate Grey/Pebble Grey full leather interior
PDK
Mobile phone prep
multi function steering wheel
Isofix passenger
Heated Seats
Park Assist front and rear
Floor mats (!)

May build and June delivery. I can't wait.

I ordered through Solihull OPC - Mark Shelton did a brilliant job looking after me and I came away feeling as though I got a fair deal. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone thinking of taking the plunge.

I'm looking forward to being able to participate in the forum as a Porsche owner!

Had my 2 Porsche cars off Mark, good guy to deal with thumbup

Right, who will take a bet that in 9 pages time, he will be the biggest t055er under the sun, Porsche Solihull should hang their heads in shame and probably be better off renting out deck chairs in the local park wink

A friend of mine once went to OPC Solihull. I'm saying no more than that, but a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat and all that...

ETA: wink

and - enjoy the car. Think they look fab myself. A vast improvement over the BMW moon buggy!

Wow, end March order to spec, May build, June delivery. Nice to see Porsche have got their order-to-production process well oiled for the 991!

To the OP

I'd be extremely wary of fitting 20 inch wheels without PASM to damp the potholes. 19s will ride better and (IMO) look better, though the cavernous wheel arches cry out to be filled.

I guess 991 not selling as fast as Porsche hopes .. essentially no waiting at all

When I'm racing, commentators discussing my progress for the crowd have been known to hesitate when they've dug out their "competitor info sheet" on me and seen my occupation specified as "Second hand car dealer" hehe

Wise words. The 991s is firm enough

When you are paying £90k+ on a car why worry about a few hundred quid.
