rusty windscreen pics
Discussion
Forgive my criticism but one thing that really annoys me with 911's is when the rear wings are painted without the side windows being removed. It always results in the edge of the lacquer peeling eventually.
Much better that someone spends a little time doing the job properly and removing the window(s) before prep'ing for paint (I think I was once charged £40 by an expensive bodyshop for this specific task, but I now specify that's how I want the job doing when they quote).

As far as the 993 is concerned, Paul Stephens told me that as long as you you 'pop' off the black trim strips you can paint up to the glass seal. Then replace the trims -hey presto!
...and 'popping' the windows out is even quicker than that. Not sure if you're joking Neil,
but if it's all done and there isn't a visible edge around your window trim, I'd just leave it, unless it was a top-money sort of job.
If you could have pulled them up when they still had it, then yes but, I doubt I'd bother if it looks right. All that could happen is what Goose says, lacquer can peel from the edge, but to be honest, that could happen down your rain gutters, if you've only had the rear quarters done up to them.
It's the usual case of "Where do you stop?".
ETA-
Ignore that, last bit, I was thinking of 964s.
Edited again -
Actually have 993s got gutters too?
Either way, don't worry about it.

Hi Tony,That's for the door windows where there is no top seam to worry about, the rear quarterlights need removing as the rubber seal directly meets paintwork at the top and end. It takes all of 15 minutes.

Thats exactly what i was told
Not true for the rear side windows - the black aluminium trim strip is held in place by five screws, which are hidden under the rubber window seal (you need to remove the glass and the seal to access them) tonycordon said:

Getting them back in (even with waxed cord) is a little more "fun" though
