Ok, the new wheels have arrived (Domster and I nearly managed to ruin them last night in a moments madness but that's another story ) but what tyres do I need?

The wheels are 18" 993RS split rims (replica of course) and are 8 and 10 inch wide front and rear. Now I thought they should have 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 front and rear respectively but having looked on a few web sites it suggests that is right for the front but at the rear you had the option of 285/30 rubber - anyone able to clarify which is the best/correct choice to go for before I order them?

Another point, which I can do nothing about of course, is that the rears are 47mm offset (although they are specifically made for the 992) but web pages suggest this should be 60-65. Assuming this just mean they'll sit a little more proud in the arches but 18mm shouldn't cause clearance probs I hope.

Need to order asap to get them on for the weekend - help needed soon therefore please.

Laters
ps: They do look the dangly bits now polished (bit grubby when I picked them up as they're second hand)

Scott, you can run up to 285 no probs. I wouldn't, you'll get more overstear and reduced top-end, although they'll look fat.

I have some 15mm Roock spacers if you need them...

I need to go for the thinner option anyway I think as the offset will stick them out further than required and I don't want any scuffing of arches with ma bitches in the back

I've recently fitted 285/30's on my RS replacing the 265's without any problems.
