Car went in for a minor service and would highly reccomend Autostrasse to anyone in the essex area or further a field if you are willing to travel from just outside essex.
anyway very pleased with Harvey sorted my car and given it a new lease of life!
Basically it has been feeling a bit sluggish recently actually for quite a while i just put it being down to it losing a bit of power over the years as it an early 996.
I guess i had got used to it and didnt know any different but it has been mighty slow struggled to shake off a saxo the other night!.
Anyway Harvey @Auto strasse took it out for a spin before setting me on my way, he came back claiming it was a bit slow, run it through diagnostics and my mas air sensor had gone failure across all cylinders!!
So took it back up there and new sensor fitted and drove it home and oh my cant believe the difference god knows how much power i was losing harvey reckoned as much as 100 bhp but it feels not turbo rapid but pretty quick/brisk and lively.
Anyway im sure people will say they were only doing there job spotting something like that but it has made me one happy chappy so big thumbs up for Autostrasse!
Also they fitted my new tail pipes which i am very happy with will get some pics up when i get chance

Good for you, and fair play for sorting your car.
Two thing's.

1, Stop racing saxo's

2, If you do race saxo's stop losing!

+1 for Autostrasse... have used them for the last 2 years for general servicing, a window regulator, rads, breaks and some suspension bits on my 996 C2.

They looked after my 993 for 4 years. Good guys (and pretty keen prices as well, no shock bills)

I'm surprised the who normally services your car didn't find it, I would have though the OBDC (or whatever they call it) would flag it up on diagnostics.

I had my car dyno'd back in Feb just out of interest and it made 251bhp, with tell-tale signs of a dodgy MAF. Fitted a new MAF and it was transfromed. Smoother and much, much stronger through the midrange. I need to get it back to the RR for another run to make sure it's back to the 290-ish peak it ought to have.

im not being nasty buy my earlier post got removed and i merely pointed out that my mate had a 'less than favourable' experience with them.
Im sure if we can blow smoke up their arse we can also talk about the flipside of an individuals experience. NO ONE gets it right 100% of the time

Ken + Harvey recently gave my 3.2 a major service. All good, and put some other small things right on the car such as one of the side repeaters wasn't working properly, exhaust brackets needed adjusting etc etc I'm sure you get the picture. What I find refreshing is the good old fashion service they give. Sure, those items cost me a few pounds to put right, but they take a genuine interest in doing the right thing.
No hestiation from me in using them again, or recommending them in future. Top job, fairly priced and good at keeping you informed.

FYI previous post contravened name/shame rules and was flagged, this one is fine (due to vagueness)

And yes, no one gets it right 100% of the time so less than favourable experiences can be hinted at as a counter point. It is the detail that tends to lead to murky legal waters.

+1 for Autostrasse. I've had plenty of work done by them on my 964 and have been pleased each time. I particularly like their cylinder leakage machine which said my 87,000 mile engine was as good as new! If it'd been rebuilt I guess the invoice would have come with the car(?) Friendly, efficient and realistic. If in Herts / Essex area definitely worth a try.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Dyno Dynamics measure power at the wheels?

Yeah...but what makes the wheels turn, and then what makes that part work...follow the chain, and maybe somewhere the MAF might come into it?

BTW, I am just guessing here...someone should come to correct if wrong!

Have known Alan and ken for a long time and have serviced my last C4S for the last three years, and will be using them to look after non warranty work on my C2S, very experienced and will often help with advice over the phone.
