New Boxster - Racing Yellow - The Money Shots
Discussion
Had a close look at one on the stand in Geneva (albeit in boring Silver).
I noticed that the profile of the front wings is now quite different to those on the 991 with a visible crease on the inner edges next to the bonnet. Looked slightly odd to me under all those lights and I found it a bit odd but perhaps it's all part of the new masculinity that they have tried to build in
If the 991 doesn't need it, then the Boxster shouldn't either - but I suppose it serves to differentiate the two and of course the Boxster's headlights are not round so there is a link.
Also noted that what appear to be the sills are actually entirely plastic. This long panel now covers the internal/structural sill elements and extends to include the air intakes right up to that new shutline. Possibly made of the the same PU material that you find on the front and rear bumper covers...

'tis true about ring times, I prefer a soft road setup anyday.
If the laptime stands, this car leaves plenty of other hot metal in its wake including:
Cayman R
C63 AMG
Gallardo & Gallardo Spyder
Aston V8V & DBS
and last but not least, the Gen1 997 C2S time set by Walter R himself in 2004.
The time leaves this car about a second and a half slower than a Gen1 GT3 which, was probably set on cup tyres.

although the new boxster is a great looking car i think its loosing some of its soul.in many years to come everybody will be saying the greatest boxster is the 986 not the 981.a bit like the 911 story, everyone who has ordered a 981 is talking it up but does it make it a better car.
so glad i bought a spyder:lighter, more power, betterlooking imho, and no dodgy handbrake and electronic steering.

as I mentioned on another thread Porsche blurb says it is the same time as a GT3 996 round the ringIf the laptime stands, this car leaves plenty of other hot metal in its wake including:
