The new boxster
Discussion
Is a mighty fine looking thing,I'm starting to agree with Harris...do you really need more sportscar?
I test drove the 991s,and have had multiple 911s over the years, but I keep driving my wife's 987 boxster and I struggle to find occasions where any 911 provides as much fun on the road.in the boxster you can use so much of its performance compared to a 911....yes maybe 2% of the time the 911 can provide thrills the boxster cannot match, but overall is the boxster the best Porsche made for everyday road use ?
Or put another way is a 991s 40000 better ? Especially considering they have the same interior.

personally i have always thought the boxster a great car(being on my 2nd albeit a spyder) its just the "its not a mans car"tag that puts others off until they drive one.maybe thats about to change with the 991 costing circa £90k and a well specd 981s costing £40k less but not being £40k less of a car it might suddenly be the none gt porsche to own?
cant wait for the new cayman though

im based in cz, and i actually see more men driving boxsters than ladies !
agree this "mans car" quote is pure top gear bs.
anyone who is not secure in themselves to drive a boxster
has to question their own sexual preferences..
i drive a spyder and dont give a flying f *** if people think its a womans car.
all i know is it is one of the best porsches on the road.

I hope to be in a position to order a new porker in 12 months or so. The decision between a nicely specced Boxster S for 55K or an ok specced 991 Carerra for 75K is going to be interesting.
I'm pretty tall and found the 987 Cayman S I had just too small leg room wise, and just too noisey on the m-way. A 991 would address both of these, but then the new 981 might well to, and be a lot cheaper, with the added bonus of the soft top.
