Hi guys,

Am I mad?

http://www.chilternmotors.co.uk/used-cars/porsche-...

Quite like it and am thinking of making the call on Monday.

Any potential issues with a 4.7L ?

TIA,

C smile

You're only mad if you buy without taking due diligence. Having said that, it looks to be in fabulous condition.

It's brown.

With the wrong wheels.

It seems quite expensive for an 1983. This is definitely a restored classic rather than a slightly more modern s4.

Wrong wheels though. Shouldn't it have teledials?

You're right, on all counts, and on the wheels front I'd try to get some originals back on it.

Thanks for the posts, all.

Oh, and MTR - without a doubt...Paul Anderson will be involved somewhere along the line. smile

Cheers,

C.

I think it looks quite good value in my opinion. £26,000 worth of work with restored body and fully retrimmed interior and low mileage. Not my number 1 choice on colour I admit (not thats its not nice) but I would most definitley go for it at that money smile

Nor mine, tbh, but the Mrs loves orange cars and this is 'burnt' orange, so no issues from swmbo! Bonus. smile

Lovely car and I really like to colour. I do think it is a bit over priced though. I would have thought 5995-6500 would be a better price but hey, what do I know!

Certainly looks better than this one my mate bought.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-PORSCHE-928-S-SERIE...

It lasted exactly 35 miles before collapsing in a pile of steam, the AA man condemned it and towed it the rest of the way back.
To Norfolk.

Lucky my mate hasn't got very high standards wink

Difficult to say, as he didn't (get the AA to) take it back there and then I can't say he did!

Reminds me of my experience - I only managed about 6 miles

I paid #3250 for a lemon in Sept - I dived in on a whim (ebay) without seeing the car, having thrown my teddy in corner, after the 4th 996tt I had got inspected had a negative report

I didnt expect the car to be perfect, far from it - but the seller had been more economic with the truth

The car was picked up and delivered from Scotland to Kent - www.shiply.com - very reasonable - but if I had turned but with the money in my pocket, the car wont be in my garage now

Its a long term hobby now - I will enjoy it that way

Ill post some pics tom' - there are some already posted in an early 928 thread

I didnt leave negative feedback, i didnt leave any

Mine came from scotland and the fault list in the advert was somewhat shorter than the reality hehe.

It is my only car, although its been sat for 4 months due to lack of funds for insurance tax and mot. It just at the garage having some welding to the sills where its been bodged before so it can pass its mot and is insured now, just waiting to pass the mot now, possibly with a new set of dash switches. I'd like to get most of the interior out including all carpets, (half are out already) to give it a real good clean. Might put some foam under the carpets to make them extra plush as well.
