The unloved porsche ...

.... is very much loved here at jackal towers
Gave her a wash today and decided that she's such an amazing everyday do-it-all companion and I feel so attached that I will keep her and not chop her in to help fund the next big purchase. In fact, i'll put up with the dismal economy through to 2013 when at some point I expect I'll change for a diesel when they come down a bit more. Amazing real-world cars.

Lots of love for the Cayenne here.
The best car that Porsche make for the real world.
Although when the children leave school and can drive themselves I may see it differently !
Agreed. Got a Diesel coming this month if the boys and frauleins at Leipzig pull their collective fingers out. Cannot wait. The best car that Porsche make for the real world.

The computer says 16.4 after 6000 miles of mixed usage.
Mine says 22mpg - must not be trying hard enough
.Did you read the Evo Buying guide recently - had me running to look for something else!
22mpg is amazing, no idea how you get that. I couldn't get that even if i was trying my utmost with my head in one of those SAW reverse beartrap thingies which would initiate if I failed.

I thought just the same until I drove one. Never even gave them a second glance - and then the local OPC loaned me a Cayenne S while my 997 was in. Absolutely blew me away. Borrowed a Diesel on the back of that which felt just as quick (even though it isn't) due to the extra low down torque, and soon after an order went in.Jackal, recommend you try a new shape. Bet you won't wait until 2013 once you do.
I owned a turbo which luckily had a porsche warranty, I owned it for 6 weeks and I'd say 2 of those the car was at porsche Chiswick trying to repair the parking sensors and replacing the prop shaft. My parents bought an s at the same time out of warranty and the prop shaft went after 1 week and mine went the following week. The annoying sensor and 13mpg around town made this the shortest ownership period Iv had for a car. I sold it and went back into a sport tdv8 which was twice the price I admit but Iv kept it for 2.5 years. After what Iv read I am very much willing to give the new shape diesel a try of ownership but would not go anywhere near the previous shape again.
